After seeing Dancing Uncle’s video, here’s what Govinda has to say about him!

These days, a video of of a middle-aged man dancing at a wedding has been doing the rounds on social media. This super cool uncle dancing to the tune of Govinda’s 1987 hit song ‘main se meena se na saaki se’.

The uncle name is Sanjeev Shrivastava. He is a resident of Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh) and works as an assistant professor of electronics at Bhabha Engineering Research Institute in Bhopal.

Many Bollywood celebrities like Arjun Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Anushka Sharma, also took to Twitter and appreciated Sanjeev Shrivastava for his performance. Now Govinda has also reacted on his performance.

After seeing the video, Govinda gets overwhelmed and absolutely loves it.

Interacting with IndiaToday hee says, “I would like to say thanks. I have seen it [the video]. Achha laga mujhe [ I liked it]. Kisine bheja mujhe Mumbai mein. Mujhe achha laga. Sunita ko dikhaya maine [Somebody in Mumbai sent me the video. I liked it. I showed it to my wife Sunita].”

He further said, “Iski khasiyat kya hai ke woh socha nahi ke woh dance kar rahe hai. Is baat ka usey ehsaas bhi nahi hai ke woh kya movements kis tarha se kar raha hai..Isko dekha toh laga ki yeh toh Govinda ki achhe se copy kar raha hai [What’s special about his dance is that he didn’t do the steps consciously. I watched him dance and realised he was copying me well]…It’s so nice to see somebody copying you.”

The actor also gave message to the dancing uncle, Govinda said, “Jis tarha aap dance kar rahe they aur karte samay usko enjoy kar rahe they, mujhe bohot achha laga dekhkar aur kripya iss tarha se aap dhamal machaate rahiye. Jis tarha aapki patni aapke ke saath dance kar rahi thi, woh mujhe bohot achha laga [I really liked the way you were enjoying while dancing and I would request you to keep enjoying yourself. I also liked the way your wife danced with you on stage].”

Shrivastava is passionate about dancing even though he didn’t receive any formal training.  In fact, he had also won the Madhya Pradesh competition, held in Bhopal during the 80s, for three consecutive years. He had been a regular stage performer till 1998.
