Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has been doing his bit helping people in need through the coronavirus lockdown.

Recently, the actor has taken one more step ahead and announced the launch of a reprised version of the song ‘Teri Mitti’ in order to pay tribute to the doctors tomorrow.

The 52-year-old star took to Twitter to announce the date and time of the song launch – Friday at 12:30 PM.

Akshay tweeted, “Somebody has said right, they only support themselves in times of difficulty and they are at the forefront of this problem with our own doctors who are not less than soldiers in white coat. Look #TeriMitti – Tribute tomorrow 12.30 pm from us Special for them #DirectDilSeHeart.”

With a background score of the original track from the movie Kesari, the actor shared a video with illustrations of doctors.

“Sarhad pe jo wardi khaki thee, ab uska rang safed hua,” the wordings flashed across the video.

“A salute to the heroes, a tribute to our brave India,” the lines further read.

Towards the end of the 28-second animated video, the Housefull actor announced: “Teri Mitti tribute. Song out tomorrow at 12:30 PM.”

Meanwhile, Akshay was among the first film stars to contribute to various charities. In March-end, he had announced that he would be donating Rs 25 crore to the emergency fund launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to combat health contingencies like the coronavirus.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar was busy shooting for his next film Bachchan Pandey before the outbreak of coronavirus forced the industry to stop work. Apart from this, the actor also has Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi, Bachchan Pandey, Laxmmi Bomb and Bell Bottom in his kitty.
