Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi’s case has a new update as Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday ordered early disposal of the case.

After Meesha’s plea for cross-examination of Ali’s witnesses was rejected by Lahore High Court (LHC), the Supreme Court has granted permission.

Meesha went to the Top Court and accepting her request, the SC granted permission to record joint statements and perform the joint cross-examination of 9 witnesses of Ali Zafar. A 2 member bench of the top court ordered Ali’s counsel to submit affidavits from witnesses within a week and also gave 1 week to Meesha’s lawyer to prepare for the cross-examination of witnesses.

Further, the court has asked both parties to complete the cross-examination within a single day and not take any time more than that.

In April 2018, Meesha accused the actor of physically harassing her on “more than one occasion”. However, Ali denies the allegations and after two months, he slapped a defamation suit on her.
