#MeToo: Alok Nath anticipatory bail plea rejected by Mumbai’s Sessions Court

Recently, famous actor Alok Nath has been accused of rape by Senior TV writer-producer, Vinta Nanda. The veteran writer-producer has accused actor Alok Nath of raping her 19 years ago.

An FIR had been registered under section 376 of the IPC (rape) against Alok by the Oshiwara police after recording Vinta’s statement.

Recently, the actor has filed anticipatory bail application in a Mumbai court. The plea for pre-arrest bail was filed before Additional Sessions Judge S S Oza Thursday.

But, the Mumbai’s Sessions Court has rejected his plea, according to Mid Day report. This decision gives the judiciary and the police the right to arrest him as per law when required.

For the uninitiated, in the wake of #MeeToo, Alok Nath has been accused of rape by Senior TV writer-producer, Vinta Nanda. The veteran writer-producer has accused actor Alok Nath of raping her 19 years ago. She served as the writer and producer of teleserial ‘Tara’ in the 90s, in which Nath played a lead role.
