Television actor Amit Tandon who is known for his shows like Dill Mill Gayye, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Ye Hai Mohabbatein, among others was recently in the news after he announced divorce with wife Ruby.
But, Ruby’s jail term changed things between them and now the couple has decided to give their marriage a second chance.
Even, the couple started living together again with their 7-year-old daughter, Jiyana.
Amit Tandon and wife Ruby come together again
Speaking about the same, Amit Tandon told a leading daily that, “Ruby is slowly getting back to work. She has unbelievable strength, I would have gone mad if I was in her place. Our relationship is still work in progress, but we are friends again, at least we know we can depend on each other. We are living together as a family and I’m glad I get to see my daughter every day.”
In August 2017, Ruby had been put behind bars as certain DHA (Dubai Health Authority) officials had alleged that she had threatened a few government officials there. Her ordeal ended in Sep 2018 and the dermatologist flew back to the US to her mother instead of coming to India, at that time.
The incident has helped the couple in coming together as it was at this difficult time when they realised what strength they give each other. Talking about the same, Amit told Mirror, “The difficult time helped put things into perspective. There were a lot of upheavals in my life and it was difficult to explain to my daughter, Jiyana, who is seven, what was happening. In a way, I felt guilty for the situation she had to face. I still remember her crying through the night when Ruby was away. We suffered serious financial losses, but all this has only made us stronger. The legal system in Dubai is not easy to work around. We got a court hearing after over 10 months.”
Amit and Ruby had tied the knot in 2009 and have a daughter Jiyana.
On the professional front, Amit Tandon was first seen as one of the finalists on the first season of ‘Indian Idol’. Later, he made his acting debut with Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai’. Post which, he did shows like ‘Dill Mill Gayye’, ‘Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi’, ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ and was last seen in ‘Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki’ opposite Kratika Sengar.
