After all those speculations, confirmations and denials, it is now cemented that “Race 3″ is going to star Salman Khan, with Jacqueline Fernandez playing the female lead. The film will be helmed by Remo D’souza who was initially in talks with Salman for the dance film, “Go Daddy”.
Ramesh Taurani now confirms, “Yes, Salman and Jacqueline are confirmed for Race 3. It will release next year on Eid.” There was also talk about Daisy Shah being roped in for the action franchise. But Taurani says, “We haven’t taken a call on that. We will do that in a week’s time.”
And now the next big buzz that is doing rounds is the legend Amitabh Bachchan will be joining Salman in ‘Race 3’. It’s bit difficult to believe right?
Salman and Amitabh Bachchan were last seen together in ‘Baghban’ which released in 2003, ‘Baabul’ in the year 2006 and in ‘God Tussi Great Ho’. Obviously these films were shot for much before Salman’s ex Aishwarya Rai got married to Abhishek Bachchan and became the Bachchan Bahu.
Salman’s father veteran Bollywood scriptwriter Salim Khan has had a long and successful association with Amitabh Bachchan. In fact, it was was the famous Salim- Javed (Akhtar) duo that penned some of Amitabh Bachchan‘s iconic films like Deewar, Zanjeer, Majboor, Trishul and Sholay. After the Salim-Javed split, Big B apparently vowed to continue working with Javed Akhtar. This kind of burned the bridge between Bachchan and Khan. But looks like, keeping everything aside the duo is all set to work together.

And after years gap, these two would be sharing screen space and nothing more than that could make other filmmakers go green with envy. We wonder how ‘Race 3’ director Remo D’souza managed to bring the two superstars together. A source revealed to BollywoodLife, “Amitabh Bachchan has been approached for Salman Khan’s ‘Race 3’. And it seems that Big B is pretty thrilled and has no apprehensions working with Salman.”
However, neither the makers nor the stars have made official confirmations about it yet.
The first two films in this series were directed by Abbas Mustan duo. The film featured Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna in lead roles and also saw Anil Kapoor in the supporting cast. With the change in director’s hat, looks like a new casting was expected.
