Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara Netanyahu who arrived in Mumbai late on Wednesday has met with some of the biggest stars and film personalities at an exclusive ‘Shalom Bollywood’ evening on Thursday.

Not only this, he proposed an ‘Oscar selfie’ by saying, “I want everyone in Indian and Israel to know about the phenomenal friendship between our countries. So I have an idea. One of the most viral pictures took place at the Oscars where several celebrities took a selfie together”

“So I want all the Bollywood actors, directors, producers present here to join me right now for a selfie so millions of people can see the great friendship between the two countries”. he added.

Posing for the selfie were Bollywood guests such as Bachchan and his family, Johar, Randhir Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Sara Ali Khan, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, Madhur Bhandarkar, Nikkhil Advani, Abhishek Kapoor, Subhash Ghai, lyricist Prasoon Joshi among others.

Netanyahu, in his address, spoke about Big B and Bollywood, and said, “I learnt that Amitabh Bachchan has a larger fan following than me on social media. You guys are a big deal. The world loves Bollywood. We love Bollywood. We want Bollywood in Israel.”

Vivek also shared a click of him and wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi with the Israeli PM on his Twitter handle. “What an incredible pleasure it was meeting you, sir! You are an amazing ambassador for Israel, you won our hearts today! Looking fwd to visiting your beautiful country and experiencing the rich Israeli culture very soon!”

 

At the event, Aishwarya with producer Ronnie Screwvala welcomed the Prime Minister and the first lady, Sara Netanyahu.

The Israeli PM and his wife, Sara Netanyahu participated in the event that aimed at exploring business opportunities for Indian filmmakers in Israel, along with select members of the film fraternity and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
