The actor would be seen playing the character of Jhalkaribai, who was considered as the right hand of Rani Laxmibai and was a part of her army. “I’d never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I’m honoured that I’ll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana’s Rani Laxmibai,” Ankita told Mumbai Mirror.

She continued, “I am indebted to Kamal sir for this challenging role in a big – budget film scripted by Baahubali scriptwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad alongside a National-award winning actress like Kangana who exudes power and is an inspiration to all women. I am looking forward to learning from her once we start shooting in August.”

Due to her stark resemblance to Queen of Jhansi, Jhalkaribai was induced in her army and went on to act as her body-double to deceive the British during an attack. She later sacrificed her life to save the Queen.

Ankita’s  “Pavitra Rishta”  co-star Karanveer Mehra congratulated her on this achievement and re-shared the article. He wrote: “They say good things happen to people who wait , I said better things happen to people who wait longer, She said best things happen to people who wait the longest #bollywood #debut #jhalkaribai #bigbreakthrough #actor #actorslife #happy #excited #CantWait to c u on 70mm @lokhandeankita Way to go girl , it’s the beginning of a new beginning

Ankita has already started preparing for her role in the upcoming film. And to get her character right, she is currently training in sword-fighting with famous Hollywood action director Nick Powell.

Heartily congratulations to Ankita for her achievement.
