Finally! The trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Article 15 is out. In the film, the actor will be seen playing the role of a cop.

It is inspired by the true events of the infamous 2014 Badaun gang rape. In the film, three sisters working on daily wages are harassed for demanding hike of mere three rupees in their respective payments because they are Dalits. As a result, the two are brutally gang-raped, murdered with their bodies left hanging on a tree.

Ayushmann is seen searching for one of the three sisters. During the course of his investigations, Ayushmann unravels a system which is largely divided by cast and to what extent.

The film is based on the Indian Constitution’s ‘Article 15’, which prohibits people from discriminating anyone on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. It is inspired from real life events.

Talking of the film, ‘Article 15’ is an investigative drama written by Gaurav Solanki and Anubhav Sinha. Apart from Ayushmann, it also stars Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa.

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film is set to release on 28th June 2019.
