The husband of BJP state executive member and vice-president of Mahila Morcha Sonali Phogat was found dead under mysterious circumstances near his farmhouse in district Hisar.

The body of Sanjay Phogat (45) has been kept at the mortuary and the cause of death was yet to be ascertained, the police said. Sonali, who is also an actor, mostly resides in Mumbai because of her assignments.

Sanjay’s family members, including his parents and brother, reside in Hisar. The police said that after talking to his family members at night, he went to sleep at his farmhouse in Dhandhoor village, around 10 km from Hisar. His body was found in a field near the farmhouse by his family members Thursday morning.
While Sonali Phogat rushed to the hospital immediately, several other members of the party soon joined in as well. The body has been sent for post-mortem and the police are currently investigating the cause of death.
