Veteran actor Om Puri passed away in Mumbai, he was found dead at his home on Friday morning. He was 66. Om Puri’s friends and colleagues from Bollywood reached his Andheri residence to pay their last respects to the actor. Puri’s body was taken to Cooper hospital for postmortem, following which the funeral will take place.
Confirming the news, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit — a close friend of Puri, first confirmed the sad news of his demise on Twitter. Puri returned home last evening after a shoot. Reportedly his door bell went unanswered, following which his driver raised an alarm.

Born on October 18, 1950, hailing from Ambala in Haryana, Om Puri made his film debut in 1976 with the Marathi film ‘Ghashiram Kotwal’.
