Bombay High Court quashes FIR against actor Armaan Kohli after he submitted an affidavit from jail expressing “remorse and regret” for assaulting his girlfriend.
In the affidavit, the actor assures that he will not repeat such behaviour in future. Armaan also paid monetary compensation to Neeru Randhawa.
Consequently, the actor has been released from Arthur Road Jail, where he was lodged since the past two days.
The court observed that since the victim, Neeru Randhawa, had consented to the quashing of the FIR and did not desire to take the case forward, it was best to quash the FIR.
Kohli’s lawyer showed two post-dated cheques issued by Rajneesh Kohli, brother of Armaan to the court which will be handed over to Randhawa. Randhawa has already received one cheque. She told the court, “if the conditions of settlement are met then I will be happy to take back the case.”

The court also directed the actor to deposit an amount of Rs 1 lakh with the Tata Memorial children’s treatment centre and another 1 lakh with the National Association for the Blind within 6 months from today to contribute to society.
Kohli’s 90 year old father Rajkumar Kohli was in court but said that he knew nothing about the settlement. The court then called Armaan’s brother in law Raman Bhandari in the witness box who told the court that he was aware about the amicable settlement.
For those who don’t know, Armaan has been accused by his live-in partner, a model, of beating her up after an argument broke out between the two. Neeru has suffered head injuries and has been hospitalised in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital.
Neeru alleged that they were discussing about money, when Armaan lost his temper and started hitting her. After a case was registered with the police, a team was formed to investigate into the matter and the women’s statement was recorded.
Neeru and Armaan have been in a relationship since 2015. They have met through a common friend and soon start dating.
