Bhoomi is a revenge drama where the father (Sanjay Dutt) takes the revenge against his daughter’s (Aditi Rao Hydari) rapists. The rape scene is one of most crucial scenes of the film, and the makers are agitating over its deletion.

According to sources, “The makers argued that the rape is very important to the film. They even cited the example of the recent Sridevi starrer Mom where a rape was at the core of the plot. But the argument did not hold water as in Mom, no rape was shown. In fact producer Boney Kapoor had removed all the graphic suggestions of sexual violation to make the product more palatable to a family audience.”

However, the Bhoomi team has gone home along with their U/A certificate for now.

This is Sanjay Dutt’s first film after his release from Pune’s Yarweda Jail in 2016.

Omung Kumar has directed the film while Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Singh backed the project as producers.“Bhoomi” is all set to release on September 22, 2017.
