Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer ‘Dhadak’ is one of the much-awaited films of the year. The film has been in the news since it was announced. Dhadak is an official remake of the hit-Marathi movie Sairat directed by Nagraj Manjule. The film is slated to release on July 20. But, do you know their are some major difference between Sairat and Dhadak. Just have a look:
1. Title
The first difference between the two films is it’s title. The love story of Sairat was less about love and more about unchained spirit of innocent love that is fierce and does not care about social restrictions. While, Dhadak is a heavy dose of romance.
2. Backdrop
Sairat was based on the backdrop of Maharashtra, while, Dhadak is based on the backdrop of Rajasthan.

3. Caste discrimination
Sairat was a story of caste-based differences and violence. While, the caste angle has been completely discarded from the film.
4. Director
The national-award winning Sairat was directed by Nagraj Manjule, who is known for his film Fundry which garnered a lot of appreciation from the audience. While, Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitaan who is known for his films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya.
