Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has finally started the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Kesari’. The movie speaks about the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi fought between the Sikh soldiers and Pashtun Orakzai.
The film will be a period drama which will see him essay the role of Havaldar Ishwar Singh. There have been several reports making the rounds about the female lead of the film. Names like Katrina Kaif and Parineeti Chopra were being considered for the role.
Now, filmmaker Karan Johar finally revealed the female lead and it is none other than Parineeti. He tweeted about the same stating, “The lead actress in #KESARI is ……..PARINEETI CHOPRA! @ParineetiChopra”

In the film, Parineeti will play the role of Akshay’s wife. Talking about her role in the film, a source earlier stated to a leading daily, “Although the film is about the battle, Pari plays an important role. She will be seen as Akshay’s wife.”

Kesari is certainly Akshay Kumar’s most ambitious project till date. It will be a joint venture of Karan Johar and Akshay together.
Directed by Anurag Singh., the film will release in 2019.
