Cricket is called as Gentleman’s game but some players couldn’t make up to the mark. With some players getting bad name on non-cricket related activities and some involving on the field and worst scenarios like match fixing. We look at some reputed players who have been jailed for different crimes.
1. Navjot Singh Sidhu (India)
In 2006 the Punjab and Haryana court sentenced cricketer and commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu to 3 years in jail and a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Apparently in 1988, Sidhu was with his two friends when the duo had harsh violence on an old man that led to his death. Although Sidhu was sentenced to three years in jail, he appealed against the judgement after spending a few days in jail and the court ruled in his favour.

2. S Sreesanth (India)
In 2013, the Delhi police arrested Sreesanth and two of his Rajasthan Royals teammates, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan from Mumbai, on charges of spot-fixing during IPL 6. In July 2015, he was acquitted in the spot-fixing case.
