Crime show ‘Savdhaan India’ to go off air from Star Bharat, here’s why

One of the popular small screen show ‘Savdhaan India’ which is one of the longest-running Indian television series based on episode count is going off air.

Yes, the show axed overnight by Star Bharat. Apparently, the reason behind the sudden shutdown is the way of portrayal of crime scenes, which have allegedly disturbed viewers. The channel received a lot of complaints about the presentation of the content shown in the episodes. And hence, the channel decided to pull the plug on the show.

According to a source, the channel notified the producers of the show to stop the shooting for new episodes. The show will go off-air once all the new episodes have been aired.

A source quoted Nyoooz, “The entire production unit, including the technicians and actors are jobless all of a sudden.”

The show produced by eight different production houses is hosted by Sushant Singh. In its seven-season run, the show has featured hosts such Gaurav Chopra, Mohnish Behl, Pooja Gaur, Hiten Tejwani, Siddharth Shukla, Divya Dutta, Saurabh Raj Jain, Sakshi Tanwar.

The show focuses on real-life crime incidents in India and the story of struggle of the victims in order to get justice for their sufferings. Launched in 2012, the crime drama has recorded more than 2000 episodes.
