According to Vinod, he met Sunil Dutt at the party, at that time Sunil was searching for a new face for his brother’s role in the movie and he offered that role to Vinod Khanna. But when his father came to know about it, he pointed the gun at him and said if he went for the movies than he will shoot Vinod. However, Vinod’s mother persuaded his father and gave him 2 years. His father said if he won’t be able to do anything in two years than he have to join family business.

Got married Geetanjali in 1971
Vinod’s first film Man Ka Meet got mixed response from the audience. Later, in a week Vinod signed 15 films in a week. After getting some success in the films, Vinod and Geetanjali decided to marry. The couple got married in 1971 and had two sons, Rahul Khanna and Akshaye Khanna.
