Actor-director-singer-writer Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film “Lucknow Central” has garnered a lot of attention ever since the trailer of the film was launched on 27 July.
Now the makers of the film have released the first song from the film titled Kaavaan Kaavaan that is a rendition of the original track from “Monsoon Wedding”. The latest version has been rendered by singer Divya Kumar and has been composed by Arjunna Harjaie. The lyrics have been written by Kumar.
The feel of the song is the foot-thumping, quintessential ‘Punjabbi‘ rhythm and reflects the prisoners’ passion, rebellion, despair and hope.

Lucknow Central is produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Monisha Advani, Madhu G Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani. The film is directed by Ranjit Tiwari and written by Aseem Arora. It features Farhan Akhtar as a jail inmate, who is forming a band to escape from jail.
The film’s concept looks similar to YRF’s upcoming offering Qaidi Band which also sees the inmates of jail forming a music band. “Lucknow Central” is scheduled to release in theatres on September 15.
