Remembering the shooting of Shaan (1980) and Naseeb (1981) days, Amitabh further adds, “We both were a part of these two movies. We would do double shifts wherein we would shoot for Shaan at Film City (Goregaon, Mumbai) from 7 am to 2 pm and then move to Chandivali (Mumbai) to shoot Naseeb between 2 pm to 10 pm. While I would reach Naseeb’s sets at 2.30 pm, it is Shatru who would walk in at 6 pm! Hum Shaan ke sets se saath toh nikalte te the, par yeh itne late kaise aate the, kya maalum? Infact today I would want to know from him ki who kaha jaate the.”

In a tongue in cheek mode, Big B described an incident that established Shatrughan as an attention seeker. Narrating an episode during the shooting of Bombay To Goa (1972), Amitabh says, “We had a scene with Aruna Irani at a swimming pool. Shatru did his dialogues and then walked away. Later Aruna and I had a sequence where we are exchanging dialogues. However, suddenly I see smoke rings coming in between (me and Aruna). Phir maine dekha ki yeh (Shatru) smoke kar rahe hai. He just wanted attention!”
