After father’s transfer relocate to Chandigarh
Sunil’s father’s transferred from Dabwali to Chandigarh. After which he also went to Chandigarh with them. While living in Chandigarh, heworked in the theater and also did the course. He was discovered during his college days by the late satirist Jaspal Bhatti. From there, gradually moving in acting career and reached to Mumbai.
Born in Punjab, Sunil Grover got tremendous support and encouragement from Jaspal Bhatti. He worked with him in couple of TV shows. He has also acted in India’s first Silent comedy show, SAB TV’s Gutur Gu in the initial 26 episodes.
He started working for other channels / shows when cable television got established in India. He played small roles in films and television shows.
Do you remember Sud on Radio Mirchi? Well, the voice behind it was of Sunil. He hosted the highly popular series called “Hansi Ke Phuware”, where he played the deadpan character of Sudarshan aka Sud.

He was with Kapil in the stand up comedy show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and became immensely popular playing comical character, Gutthi. His role as female artist was well appreciated by audience.
Sunil Grover along with Manish Paul had also done a comedy show on Star Plus, titled “Mad in India” but his charm as Chutki could not attract the attention of the audience. The show came to an end soon and he finally stepped back to his old show with Kapil.
