Story of the movie:

The story of the film revolves around Murad (Ranveer Singh) who is living life of poverty with his conservative father (Vijay Raaz) and ailing mother (Amrita Subhash). His parents worked hard to get him educated so that he could have a white collar job. But, he wants to do something big in his life. While, Murad’s girlfriend Safina (Alia Bhatt) has a clear vision in her life – to become a doctor & to love Murad unabashedly. She’s someone who can get into a war all alone for Murad. Whereas, Murad is still figuring out what to do with his life. Amidst this blooming secret romance, time changes for Murad when he meets Emcee Sher (Siddhant Chaturvedi) and of Sky (Kalki Koechlin). Emcee recognize Murad’s hidden talent and pushes him to explore the ‘cheer padh’ rapper in him.

Star Performance:

Ranveer Singh has delivered a brilliant performance in the film. Alia too is seen playing a very unique role, and she is entertaining all throughout the movie. Siddhant Chaturvedi too stands out in each scene as the local rap star. Kalki Koechlin plays a small yet substantial role as Sky. While, others like Vijay Raaz, Vijay Varma and Amrita Subhash have done justice to their roles.
