Tamil actor and superstar Rajinikanth has received a legal notice from Sundar Shaekhar, who claims to be the son of underworld don Haji Mastan Mirza.
Apparently, Rajinikanth and director Ranjit were coming together for a biopic on Haji Mastan. Valarpumagan found out through media speculations that the superstar is going portray his Godfather as a smuggler and an underworld Don, which led him to send him this notice.
In the legal notice, Sundar has asked Rajinikanth not to depict Haji Mastan as a ‘smuggler and an underworld don’.
Haji Mastan was a Tamil don, a smuggler, film financier and real estate businessman, according to Times of India. There are speculations that Rajinikanth will play the role of the don, who lived between 1926 and 1994, in his next film with Pa Ranjith.

Now, BollywoodLife has procured a copy of the letter that was sent to Rajinikanth. Part of the notice read, “Recently I came to know through print media viz. Times Of India and Tamil Times that you along with Director Mr Ranjit are making a film on my Godfather Late Shri Haji Mastan Mirza’s life line or biopic, hence I am thereby sending you this notice” adding that ” I further state that you are depicting my Godfather and a well known national political leader as a “Smuggler and an Underworld Don”, which are highly unacceptable and I strongly oppose such misinterpretation of my Godfather.”
In another paragraph of the letter, it was mentioned, “If you are really interested in making film on the lifestyle of Late Shri Haji Mastan Mirza then I shall provide you his real life story…”

Mastan Haider Mirza, popularly known as Haji Mastan, was a Tamil Muslim who migrated to Mumbai when he was eight along with his father. He was an associate of gangsters Karim Lala and Varadarajan Mudaliar, who were involved in smuggling and real estate business. He also financed Bollywood films. Haji allegedly dominated the underworld scene of the city for almost 20 years.
Well, we wonder how Thalaiva will react to these reports and the notice.
