Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul has recently got into trouble over their ‘sexist’ and ‘disrespectful’ remarks on women on the chat show Koffee With Karan 6.
And now, according to reports, Hardik and Rahul have been suspended and sent back home from the Australian One Day Internationals (ODI) series.
The decision came after Rai’s CoA colleague, Diana Edulji, recommended suspension till further action against the two.
Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul suspended
A statement on the BCCI’s official website read: “The CoA (Committee of Administrators) in accordance with the BCCI has decided to suspend Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul from playing any form of cricket after their comments on a TV show.
“The duo will now return to India and an inquiry and proceedings will be made against them for misconduct and indiscipline that have been initiated under Rule 41 of the BCCI constitution.
Pandya has been facing a severe backlash among the fans for his comments on Koffee with Karan. He boasted about hooking up with several women and how he is extremely open about it with his parents. When he was asked by Karan Johar on why didn’t he ask women their name in a club, Pandya said that “I like to watch and observe how they (women) move. I’m little from the black side so I need to see how they move.
The episode has now been taken down the broadcasters after several complaints by the users.
