Haryana govt comes out in support of ailing actor Sitaram Panchal, gives Rs 5 lakh financial help

Actor Sitaram Panchal, who has featured in critically acclaimed films like Peepli LiveSlumdog MillionairePaan Singh Tomar and Jolly LLB 2, is battling cancer.

The actor has been fighting cancer for the past three years, and now his condition has worsened. He asked for help in a Facebook post shared on Monday morning.

In his post, Mr Panchal mentioned his deteriorating health and wrote: “Bhaio, meri help karo meri cancer se halat kharab hoti ja rahi hai, apka kalakar bhai Sitaram Panchal.”

Well now, the Haryana government has comes out in support of ailing actor and gives Rs 5 lakh financial help.

Filmmaker Ashwini Chaudhary, was in touch with the state government and had approached other members of the fraternity to help Panchal.

“Just got a call from CMO Haryana. Thank you for offering financial assistance to Sitaram Panchal,” Chaudhary tweeted. Chaudhary told Hindustan Times that the government has transferred ₹ 5 lakh to the account of Panchal, and will offer more money through other schemes.

“Other members of the industry are also coming forward to help Panchal’s family. From Haryana, actor Randeep Hooda called me and said he was going to help them,” said Chaudhary.

Panchal is reportedly suffering from lung and kidney cancer. Mr Panchal’s condition has failed to improve and he has been unable to work over the last 10 months.
