However, the show failed to meet audiences expectations and will now go off air. The daily soap will end on October 6th.

The show will now be replaced by Narayani Shastri and Mahima Makwana starrer “Rishton Ka Chakravyuh”.

This is not the first time that “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon” is making news for being axed. Earlier, too there were reports, but producer Gul Khan had denied them. But this time the channel has decided to pull the plug on the show. She confirmed the news on Instagram with a sad post.

Barun earlier in an interview with an entertainment portal was asked about the feedback he has been getting for the show.

Barun had said, “We’ve been getting a mixed feedback, but most of what we have heard that it is getting better. And I guess, that’s how it should be. Not everything should be revealed all at once.”

He was also asked if he is disappointed with the low TRPs of the show. Responding to this, he said, “It’s okay ya. I think we opened on a good TRP. It definitely wasn’t what we expected, but we opened at good numbers. Usually, of what I’ve seen with Gul’s shows, they get better with time.”

“Because the characters have so many layers, it takes time for the un layering otherwise you cannot justify if everything is shown within a day. So, I’m sure it is going to get better,” he added.

Meanwhile, “Rishton Ka Chakrvyuh” currently airs at 6 pm slot and has been receiving good response from the viewers. Hence, the channel has decided to shift the drama to Iss Pyaar Ko’s time slot.
