After weeks of several speculations, the family of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja confirmed their wedding. The couple will tie the knot on May 8.
A statement on behalf of the Kapoor and Ahuja families was issued on Tuesday. “The Kapoor and Ahuja families take great joy and pride in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on May 8 in Mumbai,” read the statement.
In the statement, it is said that the wedding will be an intimate affair and they request everyone to respect the family’s need for privacy.
“Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives,” the statement read.
It will be a big fat Indian wedding. There will be three different functions- Mehendi, Sangeet and the D-Day and all of these will be held at three different venues.
The Kapoors seem to have begun the wedding preparations in full swing and their bungalow in Juhu has also started to get decorated.
Recently, there were news doing the rounds that no wedding cards will be printed for Sonam and Anand. The couple’s families will be sending the e-invites instead of wedding cards. Choreographer Farah Khan has been approached to choreograph the sangeet.
Reports also suggest that Sonam’s cousin Janhvi Kapoor will be performing on her late mother Sridevi’s hit numbers like ‘Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyan’, ‘Kisi Ke Haath Naa Aayegi Yeh Ladki’, among others. Not just Janhvi, but also filmmaker Karan Johar, Sanju co-star Ranbir Kapoor, cousin Arjun Kapoor too will be seen grooving at Sonam and Anand’s Sangeet.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonam Kapoor will be seen in Shashanka Ghosh’s Veere Di Wedding with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.
