Blackbuck Poaching Case: Jodhpur court to reject Salman Khan’s bail if he fails to appear in the next hearing

Last year, Salman Khan was sentenced to 5 years in jail in the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case and had later received the bail.

The hearing for actor’s appeal against Rajasthan High Court’s verdict in the case was held at the Jodhpur Court today. However, the actor was not present for the hearing. The next date of court hearing is 27th September.

Now, the court warned the actor that if he doesn’t appear before the court in next hearing, his bail will be rejected. 

Salman Khan, was convicted Under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act. He had faced a five-year prison sentence along with a fine of Rs 10,000. However, after spending two nights in the Jodhpur Central Jail, he was granted bail.

In 1998, while shooting for the film ‘Hum Sath Sath Hain’ in Rajasthan, the actor went on allegedly hunting along with Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Tabu. Salman Khan is believed to have killed two blackbucks in Jodhpur’s Kankani village.

The actor was charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and others under Section 51 read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.
