Actress Sunny Leone’s upcoming south drama, Veeramadevi has embroiled in controversy as members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene (KRVYS) on Monday burnt the posters of the film and protested against the actress being its part.

They have stepped up protests against Sunny in the light of her upcoming performance at a concert in Bengaluru.

“If Sunny Leone plays this role, it will be an insult to our culture. Veeramahadevi is our goddess, we will not allow this,” said Harish, president of KRV’s Yuva Sena.

“She (Sunny Leone) should not be acting in the film Veeramadevi at all costs. We are going to protest her presence in the film as it is against our culture. We will also protest against her wherever she comes.” he added.

Veeramahadevi will mark Sunny’s debut as a lead actor down south. The film is already on floors and it will release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. The movie also stars Navdeep and is being produced by Ponse Stephen under the Steves Corner banner.
