Comedian Kapil Sharma might not have ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ to look forward to, but there is something else that will soon keep him occupied. It is his upcoming film titled ‘Firangi’ which is slated to release on November 10. Gearing up for the same, the comedian is back at the gym after four months.

Kapil was supposedly undergoing treatment of sorts at an Ayurvedic center in Bengaluru, to revitalise his mind and body. However, Kapil is keen to claw out of this slump as he returned to Mumbai for the final touches and promotion of his upcoming film ‘Firangi’.

The actor-comedian has been out of sight for a month, but we have a good news that will cheer up his faithful. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Kapil, who is producing his second film ‘Firangi’ will lend his voice to the unplugged version of a song in the film titled ‘Saheba Russ Gayi Hai’.

“Kapil really liked the song and agreed to sing the unplugged version. The original version is sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, which will feature in the film,” confirms director Rajiv Dhingra, adding that the song also has other renditions by playbacks Shafqat Amanat Ali and Neha Bhasin.

While work is still on around the version Kapil will croon, Rajiv informs that the team is yet to zero in on a date to record and shoot it. “The plan is to shoot on a stage with mood lighting and give a Coke Studio-kind of a feel to the video,” he says, adding that he is currently busy with the post-production of the film.

Kapil had made his acting debut with Abbas Mustan’s ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ in 2015. And now one wonders what ‘Firangi’ has in store for us, given the fact that Kapil had been through tough times in the recent past.

‘Firangi’ will be a period film set in the backdrop of 1920. The sets of the film were constructed near the banks of the Sutlej river in Punjab and a major portion of the film was shot there. Firangi which is slated to release on November 10 also stars Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill in pivotal roles.
