Actor Karan Oberoi was recently arrested for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman has now sent to judicial custody for 14 days by Andheri Court.
An FIR was registered at Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai under sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code against Oberoi. According to the police, the actor-singer allegedly raped the woman on the pretext of marrying her.

The actor’s lawyer, advocate Dinesh Tiwari said in a statement, “We are applying for bail tomorrow and our chances of getting bail have increased further.”
A report in Mumbai Mirror mentions that Oberoi met the woman in October 2016. According to the publication, the woman wrote in her FIR: “Using the video, he blackmailed me and took money from me. However, whenever I asked him about marriage he kept ignoring it and would ask for more money. Recently, when I insisted on the marriage, he threatened me and said do whatever you want to do.”

Amid all these allegations, Karan Oberoi’s friend along with the band members of his music band ‘Band Of Boys’ came out in his support.
Pooja urged on Tuesday that the law that are exciting to protect the voice of rape victim, should be used in responsible manner by the women.
