Hussain also tried his luck in Bollywood with the film ‘Shree’, which tanked at the box office, but he does not regret it either. “I would take the blame on myself. I should have worked harder,” he says, adding, “Having said that, I am still trying. It’s not the end of the road yet. The industry evolves at every stage. Earlier, over-exposure on the small screen was said to be a deterrent in films, but now it is considered a boon.”

After ‘Kumkum’, he went on to be a part of shows like ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and ‘Krishna Arjun’. Hussain was also seen in several reality shows namely ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and ‘Nach Baliye 2′.
He went on to host shows like ‘Indian Idol 3′, ‘Nach Baliye 3’, ‘Indian Idol 4’, ‘Dance Premier League’, ‘Indian Idol 5′, I’ndian Idol 6’, ‘India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj’ and ‘Indian Idol Junior’ (season 2).
