The incident took place in front of Indralok building, Lokhandwala back road, Andheri (West). Aditya also sustained a minor injury on his hand.

It was around 12:30 p.m. when he left his home in Oshiwara suburb to go to Andheri in his Mercedes Benz car when he saw an autorickshaw approaching at high speed from the opposite direction near Lokhandwala Circle.

Within minutes after the accident, Aditya ensured that Surekha Ankush Shivekar, 32, and the autorickshaw driver Rajkumar Baburao Palekar, 64, were admitted to Kokilaben Hospital and treatment started. He also arranged for his driver and the badly damaged vehicle to report to the Versova Police Station where a complaint was lodged.

And now, if latest reports of Spotboye are to be believed, the rickshaw driver is in a critical condition. In the last two agonising weeks, he hasn’t shown the slightest of movement. He hasn’t uttered a word since the accident, nor has he identified any of his family members.

The driver has been moved from the ICU to the Stroke Unit. The accident injured to his brain. The driver has two children, a son, 25-years-old and an unmarried daughter, who is 30-years-old. The family is financially weak.

The driver used to work in a mill earlier, and since it shut down, he had much difficulty finding work. Finally he loaned money from various friends and family members to buy a rickshaw, which unfortunately soon got stolen. But since he found rickshaw-driving a sensible and secure way to earn his livelihood, he approached the bank for a loan to buy another rickshaw (the one he was driving when he met with the accident). He was paying Rs 7000, as monthly EMI on the rickshaw.
