The makers of controversial film Lipstick Under my Burkha released a new song, Le Li Jaan. The song, composed and sung by Zebunnisa Bangash (part of the Zeb Haniya duo), is based on a popular Afghani folk song. It’s lyrics are penned by by Anvita Dutt.
The song shows the four lead characters rebelling against set societal norms. Lipstick Under My Burkha chronicles the secret lives of four feisty women who are chasing their secret fantasies.[ecp code=”4″]
Swimming lessons, hair colouring, rock-out sessions in a closed room, bar dancing, sex in enclosed spaced, inappropriate selfies— ‘Le Li Jaan’s‘ video has it all.
The films stars Konkona Sensharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur in lead roles.
The movie is about four women who are leading four separate battles for their freedom. The makers had an elaborate battle with the Central Board of Film Certification ( CBFC) for its ‘lady oriented’ content.
Overruling the censor board‘s refusal, Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) has issued ‘A’ or ‘Adult’ certificate to feminist drama and it finally releases on July 21.
