Recently, Karan Johar’s short film ‘Lust Stories’ released on Netflix. The film has garnered appreciation from the critics. But, some scenes in the film has landed it in a controversy.
The film has been in the news these days for all the wrong reasons. The masturbation scenes featuring Kiara Advani and Neha Dhupia became the talk of the town.
When, Kiara’s character is seen masturbating in the scene, film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham title track played in the background. The song has been sung by legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
Well, this thing didn’t goes well down with Lata Mangeshkar and family as they gets miffed with Karan Johar for using her song in the “embarrassing situation”.

Talking to a leading daily, one of her family members said, “Why did Karan Johar use Lata Didi’s immortal song in such an embarrassing situation? I still remember how ecstatic Karan was when Didi had recorded the song for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He said it was a dream come true. Why turn the dream song into a nightmare now?”
Speaking about it further, he added, “At her age, we don’t want to expose her to this kind of ugly desecration of her song. But we (Mangeshkars) wonder why he needed to use a bhajan-like song sung in the most revered voice of Lataji to show his heroine in an orgasmic state. He could have used any other song.”
Lust Stories is all about love, romance, betrayal and heartbreaks. There are four short stories in the film. The movie stars an ensemble of actors like Radhika Apte, Neha Dhupia, Vicky Kaushal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Manisha Koirala, Akash Thosar, Sanjay Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Neil Bhoopalam, Kiara Advani.
The film is directed by four directors–Karan Johar, Dibaker Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap.
