Maharashtra state women’s commission issues notices to Patekar, seeks reply from him within 10 days

Recently, Tanushree filed a complaint with the police. She also approached the Maharashtra Women Commission for help in the matter.

Well now, the Maharashtra State Women’s Commission (MSWC) has issued notices to Nana Patekar, director Rakesh Sarang and choreographer Ganesh Acharya, among others, directing them to file a reply within 10 days.

The commission wrote to Mumbai police commissioner seeking an update about the progress made in the case after Tanushree filed a complaint with the Oshiwara police station on Saturday.

“We have taken cognizance of Tanushree Dutta’s complaint and have asked her to appear before the commission within 10 days. We have sent notices to people against whom Tanushree has filed complaint, asking them to appear before us within 10 days,” Vijaya Rahatkar of Maharashtra State Commission for Women told ANI.

The commission also asked film producers, media houses and cine artist associations to set up an internal committee to address complaints filed by women in Bollywood.“I have sent a letter to production houses and artists’ association to ensure that an internal complaints committee, which is mandated by law, is set up,” she said.
