Nobel prize winner and a Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai’s biopic ‘Gul Makai’ first motion poster of is out. The film which has been directed by Amjad Khan features TV actress Reem Shaikh in the lead role.
The poster features Reem holding a book in her hand. Well, one half of the book is caught in flames, which perhaps depicts the struggles that Malala faced in her life.
In the motion poster, one can hear Kabir Bedi’s voice booming in the background, introducing Malala’s character with the words, ” This is about those times when the Taliban was destroying Pakistan and Afghanistan in the name of Jihad and religion. When from a very small village in Pakistan, a voice arose.”

Malala is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. She is known for human rights advocacy, especially the education of women and children in her native Swat Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwest Pakistan, where the local Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school. Her advocacy has grown into an international movement, and according to Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, she has become “the most prominent citizen” of the country.
On 9 October 2012, Malala was reportedly shot at by a Taliban gunman as she rode home on a bus after taking an exam in Pakistan’s Swat Valley. She was 15 then. The brave teenage braved the bullet and after undergoing surgeries stood back on her feet fighting for the cause of women and child education.
The film will also stars Divya Dutta, Reem Shaikh, Mukesh Rishi, Abhimanyu Singh and Ajaz Khan.
