The popular host will play himself in the film that stars Subodh Bhave and Mukta Barve in the lead roles.

Maniesh shot for his part recently in Mumbai. He says, “Vikram narrated the script of ‘Hrudayantar’ which I found very interesting. He asked me if I’m interested to play a guest appearance in it and I immediately agreed”.

“Vikram is supremely talented and I’m happy to be part of his debut Marathi film. It was an interesting experience to shoot with kids,” he added.

“When I went on the sets, I first mingled and interacted with the kids. It was their lunch time so I shared their food. I ate dosa, idli, etc, which my diet doesn’t permit, but anything for kids. I love the smile on their faces,” says Maniesh.

“We have approached Maniesh to play the part because I believe he is very active and popular among the younger generation, especially kids who love him. Having him as the chief guest for sports day made the entire environment and occasion on the set amazing and lively,” Vikram said.

But if you are hoping to hear him speaking Marathi, you’ll have to wait longer. “Since I am playing myself, I won’t be speaking Marathi, but I have always been fascinated with the language. It’s 11 years since I came to Mumbai and I can understand it a bit. I know a couple of lines like ‘mala mhaiti nahi’ (I don’t know) ‘samor bagh’ (look ahead) etc,” he smiles.
