A massive fire broke out on the sets of Akshay Kumar starrer upcoming film Kesari in Wai district of Maharashtra. The fire reportedly broke out when they were shooting for the climax and final portions of the film.
Fortunately, Akshay, who had been shooting earlier in the day had left for the day when the incident took place, the rest of the crew members were very much there on the sets. This mishap occurred just 10 days before the team was about to wrap the film’s schedule after shooting the climax which involves the Battle of Saragarhi.
According to sources, “Though, the explosion was a massive one, not a single person from the crew was injured.”

Asked how the fire started, police said the shoot had a scene depicting a bomb explosion and apparently some embers fell on set material in the vicinity.
Kesari is a joint venture of Karan Johar and Akshay together, the movie speaks about the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi fought between the Sikh soldiers and Pashtun Orakzai.
The film will star Parineeti Chopra as the female lead, playing Akshay’s wife.
Directed by Anurag Singh, the film will release in 2019.
