It is very difficult to maintain stardom in Bollywood and we have seen a lot of film stars falling from grace because they couldn’t handle their success and stardom. A number of celebrities who could have gone on to achieve great heights in their career have now faded into oblivion because of that one incident which ultimately destroyed their career. 1. Shakti Kapoor

Shakti Kapoor is known for his villainous and comic roles in Hindi films, he has featured in more than 700 films throughout his career. In 2005, a certain news channel conducted a sting operation on him. The video shows him asking for sexual favours from an undercover reporter. This incident sparked a controversy in Bollywood and Kapoor was banned by the Film & Television Producers Guild of India. Association of Indian Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers decided not to ban him as no allegations against him were proved. One week later, however, the Film & Television Producers Guild lifted the ban.

2. Mamta Kulkarni

Former B-town actress Mamta Kulkarni enjoyed several commercial success in her career however she was time and again alleged to have Mafia Connection. There where speculations that the actress used Chhota Rajan to grab many roles in 1990s. Afterwards she got married to drug mafia Vikram Goswami. Lately the two were been caught for a small period of time for drug trafficking. She appeared in films like Tirangaa, Karan Arjun, Krantiveer, Kismat, Naseeb and China Gate, etc.

3. Aman Verma

Aman Verma was one of the popular faces on television. Verma is best known for hosting the famous game show Khullja Sim Sim on Star Plus from 2001 to 2004. The actor  was the target of a casting couch sting operation which was aired on India TV in March 2005. He was seen begging Suhaib Ilyasi to remove his footage from the sting operation. His career took a turn for the worst after the sting operation and he has since playing small character roles in television.

4. Monica Bedi

Monica Bedi debuted in Hindi films in the mid-1990s. The actress was arrested by Lisbon police along with her alleged boyfriend and an underworld don Abu Salem for entering Portugal with forged documents. After being deported to India, Monica was convicted for forgery and served her jail term. Well, this imprisoned caused a huge loss in her career.

5. Shiney Ahuja

Shiney Ahuja who is known for his films like Gangster, Life in a metro, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, was accused of rape, by his maid in 2009. According to the maid, when Shiney ‘s wife was not in town, he raped her. However, Shiny consistently denied this, but DNA tests confirmed the rape. In March 2011, Shiney was sentenced for seven years of imprisonment, for which Shiney appeal in High Court. The case stands closed as of now.

6. Mandakini

Mandakini is best remembered for her role in the 1985 movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili. In the year 1994, Mandakini’s picture with under world don Dawood Ibrahim went viral in media. Later it was revealed that Dawood pressurized Rishi kapoor to cast Mandakini in his film and also that Mandakini was Dawood’s mistress. And because of these controversies her career suffered and  as a result she decided to quit. Her last movie was Zordaar which released in 1996 and later, she settled down in Mumbai after marrying a doctor.

7. Vivek Oberoi

Vivek Oberoi had a wonderful start in his career, but following his infamous fight with Salman Khan, he gradually faded away from the limelight. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the reason behind Vivek and Salman’s rivalry. While Salman was her ex-boyfriend, Vivek was Aishwarya’s beau after Salman. Although Vivek had a promising debut in Company, followed by a hit romantic movie Saathiyan, his career graph went down after getting into a fight with Sallu bhai. According to Vivek, Salman drunk-called 42 times harassing him over this new love and that is when Oberoi lost his cool. He called a press meet to name and shame Sallu publicly. After realising what he had done, he apologies repeatedly, bu he couldn’t bury the hatched.

8. Vijay Raaz

Vijay Raaz is known for his comic roles in Hindi films. He was caught by the UAE police for possession of Drugs in Dubai during the shooting of Deewane Huye Pagal. Vijay has received limited offers since then.
