Surrogacy seems to be the new trend with Bollywood and Hollywood. Many childless couples are desperate and eager to have a child, but unfortunately due to infertility problems or the age factor, they are unable to conceive. More and more couples are opting for babies via surrogacy. Follows a list of famous celebrities who embraced parenthood through IVF Surrogacy:

Filmmaker and television producer Ekta Kapoor has become a single mother to a baby boy through surrogacy. According to reports, she welcomed her baby boy on Sunday, January 27. The baby is healthy and will be coming home soon.

2. Lisa Ray

Bollywood actress Lisa Ray and her husband became parents to twin daughters via surrogacy, in June 2018. She named her daughters, Sufi and Soleil. Lisa got married to longtime beau Jason Dehni on October 20, 2012.

3. Shreyas Talpade and Deepti 

Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade and his wife Deepti have been blessed with a baby girl through surrogacy on May 4, after 14 years of marriage. The couple was having certain issues because of which their doctor advised them to go for surrogacy. Shreyas whose joy knows no bounds says that it has been the best decision of their lives and they both are extremely happy.

4. Karan Johar

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar became a single daddy as he had twins, girl Roohi and boy Yash, through surrogacy. He made the big announcement through social media, thanking the ‘marvels of science’ for the development.

5. Tusshar Kapoor

Tusshar Kapoor became a proud parent of baby boy in June last year. The actor becomes a single parent to a baby boy through surrogacy using IVF. In fact, his family has also been incredibly supportive of his decision. Tusshar has named the baby boy Laksshya.

6. Krushna Abhishek and Kashmera Shah

Krushna Abhishek and Kashmera Shah became a proud parents to twins via surrogacy. The couple named their twins as Ryan and Krishank. Krushna and Kashmera tied the knot secretly in 2013 in Las Vegas after dating for more than nine years. The wedding was a spontaneous decision.

7. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri, who was already proud parents of two – Aryan and Suhana Khan, opted for surrogacy in 2013. SRK and wife Gauri happily welcomed their third child AbRam Khan through IVF surrogacy. This celebrity couple managed to keep the news away from the public and media for a very long time, but finally the truth was out in the open. AbRam has huge fan following on social media like his superstar dad.

8. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao

Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran became the proud parents of Azad Rao Khan on December 1, 2011. Azad was born through IVF “after a long wait and some difficulty”, according to a statement that was released at the time. The couple was quite open to media about their surrogacy and they even advised infertile couples to go for surrogacy.  “I am not a hands-on dad on a daily basis. My responsibilities towards work don’t allow me to do that. But I really like to spend time with him. He is a real joy. He is a very happy child,” Aamir said in an interview.

9. Sohail Khan and  Seema Sachdeva Khan

Salman Khan’s younger brother Sohail Khan married Seema Sachdeva Khan in 1998. The actor and director decided to opted to go the surrogate way for their second child, ten years after the birth of their first son, Nirvaan.  Their second baby, Yohan was born in 2011.

10. Farah Khan and husband Shirish Kunder

Famous Bollywood choreographer and director Farah Khan got married at quite a late age. She was in her 40’s when she got married to Shirish Kunder in December 2004 and the couple tried two years to have a baby. Finally, they decided to opt for IVF as they were unable to conceive naturally. Farah gave birth to son triplets in 2008; one son and two daughters.

11. Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber

Last year in March, adult star-turned Bollywood actress Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber were blessed with twin boys through surrogacy. The actress took to social media and expressed her excitement about the newly born twin Asher Singh Weber and Noah Singh Weber. The couple also have daughter, Nisha who they adopted from an orphanage in Latur (Maharashtra), when she was 21-months-old.
