#MeeToo: Dalip Tahil asks co-actress to record consent before filming rape scene for web series!

The #MeToo movement in Bollywood is in full swing as more and more women stepping up and sharing their horrifying experiences.

Amid all this, popular actor Dalip Tahil who is best known for his villainous roles in films like ‘Baazigar’, ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ among others is currently shooting for a web series titled ‘Hostages’ was to shoot a rape sequence for the show.

According to reports, the actor gave nod for the scene, but he put forth one condition. The actor asked a confirmation letter from the actress, who was supposed to feature in the scene with him, wherein she was to state that she’s comfortable shooting the scene and is doing it with consent sans any pressure.

After the actress signed a confirmation letter, Dalip wasn’t satisfied with it and therefore, asked for a video recording of the statement wherein “the actress had to say that she has done the scene without any pressure and is satisfied with the security measures on the set”.

While Dalip hasn’t responded to the report yet. But, when director Sudhir Mishra was asked about the same, he said, “While I am not the best person to comment on this, I am sure they have followed the right measures. I wasn’t on the set but a woman director was in charge of the shoot.”

Hostages is an Indian adaptation of the popular Israeli crime thriller Hostages, and it is directed by Sudhir Mishra. The series will also stars Ronit Roy, Tisca Chopra and Parvin Dabas in lead roles.
