#MeToo: Alok Nath’s wife moves to court against accuser Vinta Nanda

Recently, famous actor Alok Nath has been accused of rape by Senior TV writer-producer, Vinta Nanda. The veteran writer-producer has accused actor Alok Nath of raping her 19 years ago.

Not only this, she also alleged that her show’s lead actress Navneet Nishan also suffered harassment at hands of Alok and she had even slapped him once. After this, a crew member from the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ accused Alok Nath of mistreating her.

After Vinta, Sandhya Mridul and Deepika Amin also accused Alok Nath of sexual misconduct.

In the latest development Alok Nath’s wife Ashu Singh has moved court against Vinta Nanda. In the complaint filed through their lawyer Ashok Saraogi, Ashu has alleged that Vinta’s defamatory statement has left her and her husband, Alok Nath, terrorised and ever since people have been looking at them with a “different attitude”every time they go out.

Ashu further claimed that while they had filed a complaint at Amboli police station, the police couldn’t act on it because they felt the offences were non-cognizable.

The report states that Ashu has now urged the court to direct the police to conduct probes in the said matter.

The #MeToo movement gained momentum in India after Tanushree Dutta spoke up against Nana Patekar almost two weeks ago. Recently, a lot of such cases have come to the fore, with big names like Vikas Bahl, Kailash Kher, Rohit Roy, Rajat Kapoor being accused of harrasement by women.
