Mother Teresa biopic announced
The makers met Sister Prema Mary Pierick, the current Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity, and Sister Lynne in Kolkata recently to seek their blessings for the project on the life of the iconic nun who came from Albania to India in 1929 and set up the Missionaries of Charity in 1948.
Director Seema in a statement to IANS, said, “We visited the charity of missionaries in Kolkata and the experience was surreal. Mother Prema prayed Hail Mary and seeked divine guidance for the film. They also blessed the whole team for their protection, completion and success of the film with the firm belief that it will bring peace and light to everyone associated with this film.”
Also, the producers said in a statement that they will leave no stone unturned to pay their tribute to the noble soul. “We hope we will do justice and will be able to spread the message for peace, love and humanity that Mother Teresa stood for,” said the producers.
The movie will go on floors by the end of this year. It is likely to release in 2020.
