Bollywood’s most talented actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently expressed his anger about the differential treatment and racial discrimination on the basis of colour.
The 43-year-old took to his Twitter handle and expressed himself through a recent abstruse tweet.
He tweeted, “Thank U 4 making me realise dat I cannot b paired along wid d fair & handsome bcz I m dark & not good looking, but I never focus on that. (sic)”

This tweet is a response to Nawazuddin’s upcoming film ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz‘ casting director Sanjay Chouhan, who made a bizarre racist statement while revealing the process of casting the starcast of this film.

Chouhan, in an interview to a daily, had apparently said that after Chitrangada Singh quit the film they had to find an actress who could look good opposite the actor as they “can’t cast fair and handsome people with Nawaz. It would look so weird.”
Siddiqui’s response to this statement proves that he is beyond everything and is not an insecure actor.
However, the casting director today clarified that his comments have been misconstrued. “I was completely misquoted. All I said was the film needed actors as good as Nawazuddin. You need actors who could match his stature. I don’t know from where the ‘fair and handsome’ bit came but I never said the words,” Chouhan told PTI.
“I would never want to hurt Nawaz sir or the film by giving such statements. I haven’t spoken to him yet, but I am deeply saddened by how the comments, which I never made in the first place, have turned out,” he added.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui started off in Bollywood years ago with small parts in films such as ‘Sarfarosh’ and ‘Dev D’. He then shot to fame with pivotal roles in ‘Kahaani’ and ‘Talaash’ and has had his pick of projects ever since, starring in acclaimed films like ‘The Lunchbox’ and ‘Badlapur’. This year, he has co-starred with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Raees’ and Sridevi in ‘MOM’.
He appears in this week’s release ‘Munna Michael’ with Tiger Shroff and Nidhi Agrewal. ‘Munna Michael‘ is all set to hit the theatres on July 21.
