Nepal’s very first billionaire, Binod Chaudhary is dawning headlines yet again for organising an extravagant wedding for his younger son Varun. The three-day event that commenced on the 26th of April is taking place at the Jag Mandir palace and luxury heritage hotels in India’s Lake City, Udaipur.

Two years ago, the Nepalese billionaire also hosted the wedding of his older son in the city of Jaipur. Attended by several top politicians and big corporate names, the Udaipur wedding seems to be an equally glamorous affair.

Varun will be tying the knot with Anushree Tongya, who’s the daughter of a wealthy diamond dealer. Binod Chaudhary first gained popularity worldwide when he gained a spot in the Forbes list in 2013.
35 Pundits from all over the country, including Pushkar, Banaras, have given them seven rounds. The wedding saw attendance from a large number of celebrities from India and abroad.

Ranil Wikramasinghe, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha were among a large number of guests who graced the event and blessed the couple with their wishes.
The “Sehra” ceremony was held in Jag Mandir in royal style. The Baraat procession had started from Fateh Prakash Palace. The Baraat procession started at 7:30pm and reached Jag Mandir at 8:30 pm. The wedding vows were exchanged through the Saat Phere ceremony at 1:30 am last night. Earlier, the Mehendi and Tika ceremony were conducted in true Marwari fashion on Thursday.
The wedding ceremony was carried out in a Silver mandap (temporary structure erected for purpose of wedding). The mandap was decorated with diya (lamps). The decorators, sound system arrangements and catering was done by Delhi and Ahmedabad vendors.
Special arrangements were made for making the wedding ceremony memorable for guests. Mini cars were hired from Ahmedabad to transfer guests from City Palace to Jetty. Over 500 luxury cars were deployed for the event and over 700 room bookings were done in the city.
