#MeToo: Vicky Kaushal’s father Sham Kaushal accused of sexual harassment by assistant director

It seems like the #MeToo movement in Bollywood is in full swing as more and more women stepping up and sharing their horrifying experiences.

Till now, several other prominent personalities from the industry including Rohit Roy, Subhash Ghai, Alok Nath, Kailash Kher, Vikas Bahl, Chetan Bhagat, Rajat Kapoor have been accused of sexual harassment.

The latest name adding to the list of the accusers is that of Sham Kaushal, national award-winning stunt director, and father of actor Vicky Kaushal.

If reports are to be believed, A woman named Nameeta Prakash, who has worked as an assistant director with Sham Kaushal accused him of sexual misconduct.

Talking about the incident, she revealed that Sham Kaushal invited her to his room for a drink during outdoor shooting of a film. When she refused his offer, he tried to insist and showed her an adult video clip on his phone.

“Back in 2006 on an outdoor shoot, Sham Kaushal, the famous and award-winning Bollywood stunt director decided that I should be going to his room after wrap to drink vodka. The sound of that was just so wrong that I lied to him and told him I don’t drink at all. He tried to insist, by saying that I didn’t know what I am missing out on and when I stuck my ground, he picked up his phone and suddenly plugged it in front of me with a porn MMS video clip on it. ” she wrote.

After this, Sham issued an apology on his Twitter account. He wrote, “Ever since I have been working in this industry, I have tried my best to be a good human being, professionally and personally, never wishing to hurt or disrespect anyone,” he wrote.

“I have read the allegations made against me by some crew members. If I have unintentionally caused any hurt or anguish, I unconditionally apologise to the ladies, to the production houses and each and every member of the film fraternity,” he added.

Meanwhile, in the last few weeks, since the time Tanushree Dutta came out with details of harassment she faced on the sets of a 2008 film, Horn OK Pleassss, at the hands of veteran actor Nana Patekar, scores of women have spoken up in what is being seen as India’s #MeToo.
