For the last three days, social media has been flooded with posts on 28-year-old model from Chennai. Gaanam Nair aka Jikki Padhoo was last seen on the morning of May 26, when she left her home in Virugambakkam. A ‘missing person’ case has now been registered by the KK Nagar police.
Even after four days, the police seems to be clueless about Gaanam’s whereabouts.
According to reports, the police are probing the case from all possible angles, including conflict within the family. Gaanam’s parents live in Delhi, while she stays with her cousins in Chennai. The investigating officers are also examining CCTV footage and her Facebook account for clues. They have also alleged that Gaanam did not take the usual route to her office the day she disappeared.
“There were no problems at home. She has been with us from when she was 10 years old. She works in a salon in Nungambakkam as the marketing manager now. She always left the house at 11 am,” Gaanam’s 19-year-old cousin Priyanka told The News Minute.

Gaanam’s friends and relatives have taken to social media to express their angst and worry. “If it was an accident, we would have known by now. We have called multiple hospitals and even visited some of them. We have no clue where she is,” laments Priyanka.
Ms Nair left her house on Friday for work on her two-wheeler, but did not reach her office. Her cell phone has been switched off since then.
In the last 24 hours, about 600 tweets have referred to her case.
