Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan starrer ‘Pataakha’ has been released in cinemas. The film is based on Charan Singh Pathik’s short story titled Do Behnein. The comedy-drama revolves around the lives of two feuding sisters who grow up in a small village in Rajasthan and are constantly at war.



Story of the movie: Pataakha, is a story about two sisters, Champa Kumari aka Badki (Radhika Madan) and Genda Kumari aka Chutki (Sanya Malhotra) who lives in a small town in Rajasthan. The duo sisters hate each other from the core of their heart. Along with mouthing abuses, they even physically assault each other over silly things. Both of them harbour a dream – while Chhutki wants to start her own school, Badki wishes to start her own dairy. Problems arise when their father (Vijay Raaz) is forced to arrange money, and has no option but to get one of his daughters married to a rich person who is a creepy sleazebag. However, his plan turns to dust when both the sisters decide to run away and marry their respective boyfriends.

Other than these characters, there is also Sunil Grover (Dipper) playing the instigator, who has solutions for every problem, no matter how bizarre. He is a manipulative person who sets up fights between the two sisters, and watches them take on each other with glee. He gives them ideas that have chaotic consequences.

Star Performance: Sanya Malhotra has delivered a brilliant performance in the film. From getting the dialect on point to delivering the quirky dialogues, she does everything right. On the other hand, Radhika Madan is mind-blowingly amazing. While, Sunil Grover and Vijay Raaz has done justice to their roles.

Music Direction: The film’s music is good.

Direction: The film’s direction is good. Vishal Bhardwaj’s hard work is clearly visible in the film. Dialogues are good. While, the screenplay of the film could be even better.
