Zaira Wasim, a Kashmiri actress who played the junior Geeta Phogat in Aamir Khan’s blockbuster movie “Dangal” recently met with an accident in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

The 16-year-old actress was miraculously rescued by locals after her car fell into the Dal Lake on Thursday said police.

The car in which Zaira Wasim was travelling went out of the driver’s control on the Boulevard Road here and fell into the Dal Lake. “Locals immediately rescued her and her companion. She escaped unhurt, but her companion sustained injuries in the accident,” a local said.

“One of the her friend suffered several injuries, the other three seemed ” said a commuter who helped in rescue.

With a tragic jump over the footpath, the car hit the parapet along the lake. According to reports, the car belongs to a local politician. However, with no injuries or damage to public property in the matter, no case was registered, police said.

Zaira shot to fame with her portrayal of younger version of wrestler Geeta Phogat in Aamir Khan’s blockbuster ‘Dangal’. In fact, she is also a part of Aamir Khan’s upcoming film “Secret Superstar”. 

Directed by Advait Chauhan, “Secret Superstar” is the story of a young girl (played by Zaira Wasim who essays the role of Aamir’s daughter in Dangal) who dreams of becoming a famous singer but her father does not want her to take that road.
